Rick and Susan served for 30 years in Singapore, from 1991 to 2021, where Rick trained thousands of vibrant leaders from 21 countries based at Singapore Bible College. This included 73 teaching trips to most Asian nations, training pastors from low-income backgrounds who could not travel to Singapore. In 1992, they also helped begin International Community School, a K-12 Christian ministry. The Griffiths also planted Crossroads International Church, where Rick pastored from 2006 to 2021. Susan taught at ICS and also mentored student wives at SBC and led weekly Bible studies for women at the church. However, in 2021, as younger faculty members began to teach Dr. Rick’s courses, he transitioned to Jordan Evangelical Theological Seminary (JETS) in Amman, Jordan, to invest in students from 21 other nations in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). He is now the Academic Dean and Professor of Bible Exposition. Susan teaches women weekly at Amman International Church and serves as an accompanist in music at Whitman Academy, a K-12 Christian school.
Rick is keenly focused on multiplying his teaching. His OT and NT Survey courses are currently in Chinese, French, Portuguese (NT only), and Swahili (NT only), and both are being translated into Arabic. These have been facilitated 15 times for first-generation groups of Christian leaders from 2023 to 2025, which generally equates to about 100 times for second-generation groups taught by those who took the course as students.
Rick has also built his BibleStudyDownloads.org website, which now offers 466,000 PowerPoint slides and pages of notes in 46 courses of Bible materials, translated into 54 languages.
Their three married sons live in the US: Kurt and Cara, with their two sons, in Washington; Stephen, Katie, and their two children, in Colorado; and John and Chloe, in California.
