Community Center Outreach and Church Planting in Spain

“Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” Matthew 22:37-39

Showing Christ’s love to others is at the core of what we do as missionaries and drives our ministry focus. This means loving others even when they are hard to reach or don’t want to listen. At the community center in which I serve, that is exactly our main objective. We use programming for men, women, and children to help enter into their lives and create relationships that lead to spiritual conversations. My main role is working with preschool and primary school aged children in our after-school program. Through tutoring sessions, creative workshops, and recreational activities, we provide a safe and nurturing environment where children can thrive both academically and personally. Every encouraging word, every shared laugh, and every small success is an opportunity to plant seeds of hope and faith. We seek to build trust not only with the children but also with their families, inviting them into a supportive community that reflects the love of Christ in tangible ways.

Not only am I involved with community center outreach, but I also have the opportunity to be a part of a small church plant that meets at the community center by helping with worship in the church service or with technological needs. God is growing His church here in Spain and is using this little church to reach out further into our neighborhood.

In all these efforts, my mission remains clear: to be a beacon of light, offering compassion, friendship, and the transformative message of the gospel to those I serve in Spain.
