Crossroads International Church began in November 2006 as a multi-cultural, non-denominational ministry to English-speaking expatriates. About 80 believers from 10 nations now worship weekly. CIC gives 20% of offerings to missions. and has been served to this point by a non-paid missionary pastor. CIC is seeking a full-time pastor and can presently pay about US$48,000 annually.
International Church Pastor
REQUIREMENTS:
Male. Married. The pastor should have five years of pastoral experience and an MDiv. A doctorate is even better for credibility within this highly educated, professional-level community. He must attain the 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9 standards. CIC prefers someone who has lived overseas for a few years to enable him to minister well within this congregation of Americans and Asians. He need not be an empty-nester, but children's education in Singapore would require additional support of about US $7000 annually. Basically, CIC needs a godly man with a heart for people to serve as pastor.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Equip members by preaching at least 35 times annually, discipling elders, strengthening evangelism and small groups. In May-June 2007 CIC registered officially and took in 23 members and three elders. CIC is healthy and many members serve in Christian ministry already. Also, the church already sends out and supports Singapore Bible College students and graduates to reach Mongolians, Vietnamese, and Thais. Now CIC needs a leader with the time and commitment to extend the outreach to reproduce other healthy churches.

LIVING ENVIRONMENT:
Singapore has stable infrastructure, modern buildings, inexpensive but efficient hospitals, widely spoken English, and lush vegetation. Living with the Chinese (75%), Malays (15%), and Indians (8%) is an increasing number of professional expatriates, including 20,000 Americans. Nearly one third of inhabitants are now internationals. However, the tropical climate is often a challenge.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Singapore is a mature mission field as Christians comprise more than 18% of the people and they effectively reach out within the country and overseas. Opportunities abound among Buddhists, Hindus, and Muslims. However, the face-paced lifestyle and many ministry opportunities pose a challenge for those who learn to decline them. Yet because people are so busy, a little pastoral care goes a long way as too few take time to care for others. The church website is cicfamily.com.
