Business Partner- Medical
REQUIREMENTS:
This individual needs to be a licensed medical practitioner who is experienced in a variety of medical skill sets and settings. This role is for a person/ family who is dedicated to being in country long-term, learning language and culture and excited about joining with us in the vision and mission of the business. A strong foundation as a follower of Jesus is paramount, as well as a genuine love for people and for training/ teaching. Our team is all male and therefore it seems that this would be the best fit. We are open to a female partner, however this role is time consuming so we would not recommend it to a Mom who has children of any age still in the home. There is significant travel required for rural training and ministry work, therefore if you have a spouse or family, please consider this requirement. (We have a family, and it has been a great blessing.) A vision trip is required.

LIVING ENVIRONMENT:
Home base will be in the capital city. In this setting there is a wide variety of housing options that you can chose from. This ranges from very western to comfortable homes within local “neighborhoods”. Generally, electricity is available but personal home inverter systems are available to purchase to guarantee consistent electricity. While traveling rurally however, the travel is long, mountainous and rugged and the housing is generally clean but rugged with pit toilets, only cold water available, and food options limited to local markets. The children’s school option in the capital city are varied. A well-established international mission school is a great option for pre-K to 12th grade. There are also many people who homeschool and do local schools for the younger ages.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
In the urban setting, the office / training space is a very western, professional training facility. We will also engage in on-site trainings at urban hospitals and clinics as well. This is a developing country, so even in the urban setting, these environments will vary between western to “developing” facilities. In the rural settings, we will be on-site in rural mission hospitals which are developing in nature. The travel to these locations is rugged and requires skilled driving on rugged mountain roads (both truck and motorcycle). The trips are generally 10-12 hours of travel and can require a mixture of land and air travel. This position requires close collaboration with both expats and local staff members within our own business. There is a lot of collaborative training within facilities which will mostly be with local hospital staff and occasionally other expat support workers as well.
