Music Production/ Engineering/ Ethnomusicology

Come be a light for Christ in Central Asia. Use your skills in music production/engineering or ethnomusicology to interact with the local artistic community. Create new music and strengthen the current level of music. Learn the language. Engage in building community and relationships.

Length: 10-30 days or 2 years or more

REQUIREMENTS:
Must be a person of prayer. Independent and entrepreneurial mindset helpful. Flexible and able to live with some ambiguity as ministry takes shape. Degree or certification in your area of specialty.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
3 years of language learning. Learn the current music community and then add your area of specialty to it. Help keep music current and applicable to the culture. Work with a small number of believers and many who don’t yet know the Lord. Meet with teammates weekly for prayer.
LIVING ENVIRONMENT:
Modern city with regular amenities (water/electricity/public transportation.) Climate is similar to Colorado with dry air and seasons. Some people experience allergies due to the pollution. Singleness over age 25 is uncommon in this culture. Singles are welcome on this team, but should be prepared for questions from nationals as family is a high cultural value.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Studio setting. No overt proselytizing allowed, but music and relationships both allow opportunity for gospel conversations.
