We, as a couple, have felt a clear and undeniable call from God to serve in the mission field—specifically in Costa Rica. This calling has grown over time through prayer, scripture, and a deepening awareness of the brokenness in the world and the healing power of Christ. We believe God has placed a burden on our hearts not only to share the Gospel but to be His hands and feet among the vulnerable and the unreached.
Our vision is to serve in Jaco, Costa Rica—a region known for its beauty but also for its deep spiritual and social needs. Jaco is a hotspot for human trafficking and sexual exploitation, particularly of women and children. The tourism industry, while economically beneficial, has unfortunately contributed to a dark undercurrent of exploitation. Many individuals are trapped in cycles of abuse, poverty, and hopelessness, with little access to resources or the transformative love of Christ.
We believe God is calling us to be a light in this darkness. Our mission is twofold: to share the Gospel with those who have never truly heard it, and to engage in anti-trafficking work that brings restoration and dignity to those who have been exploited. We envision partnering with local ministries through Horizon church and organizations like Face of Justic, that are already doing the hard work of rescue, rehabilitation, and reintegration. Through discipleship, education, and community outreach, we hope to be part of a movement that not only meets physical needs but also introduces people to the eternal hope found in Jesus.
This is not just a humanitarian effort—it is a spiritual calling. We believe God will use our gifts, our compassion, and our obedience to bring healing to the brokenhearted and freedom to the captives, just as Isaiah 61 promises. We are stepping out in faith with our family, trusting that He who called us is faithful and will equip us for every good work.
Isaiah 61
1The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,[a]
2 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of joy
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the Lord
for the display of his splendor.
